Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil. If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them. (James 4:13-17)

주님께서 우리에게 미래를 알지 못하게 하심은 하나님의 진정한 지혜이다. 우리가 할일은 매일 주님께서 알려주시는 뜻에 따라 순종하며 나의 미래를 주님의 계획가운데 맡겨드리는 것. 그리할 때 우리의 미래는 주님의 놀라운 축복이다.

주님 저의 이기적인 계획은 십자가 위에 주님과 함께 죽었음을 담대히 고백하게 하소서.  매일 오직 주님만을 바라보며 주님께서 기뻐하시는 선한 일을 미루지 않게 하소서.
